TIME (Chambers Bros) I try to look into my soul To see, if it’s really there I look into my lifetime To see, if enough to care? What things, I have done And, those things for naught When, I look around me Just me, is all I’ve got! I can’t reach and touch someone Because, I would or couldn’t see Never thought, that maybe I’d be who, I might be? But, I’ll end up who I am Although there, could be a change There are parts, of my own life That, I can’t re-arrange. So many would, if I could But, I’m where I’m at And, there is no changing Between all this, and that! I know my Heart is aching For, things I didn’t do And, for all those things, I could’ve Just, between me and you. But, time has its simple way To say, that it’s too late And sometimes when it comes the end You’ll find that, it's your fate! Hear you loud and clear, Abe. I finally rid myself of ALL my demons a mere eight months ago when I realized those old days were then, now is now, and there was no possible way to right some wrongs, so I forgave myself. Just because you forgive yourself doesn't mean the pain of what you did or didn't do goes away, but at least it understands to not get too close. You have to have that right mindset to make this work. Actually, I think you have already figured it out. ~* The saddest words of tongue or pen are the words It might have been.--John Greenleaf Whittier ~*~ |
