Kissed Soft

I wish
I was more eloquent
in describing things
like
why words hide
in the darkness of throats
or why blood defies gravity
when it thinks
of silky fragrances
only one, kind of flower
can emit
and why you,
rain wet
when your finger
unlocks the gate
to the eye,
of your sigh clone
in the
ache,
of your joy.

These months
of minutes,
how they roll by
on my tongue
unseasoned,
a rise without fall
a mix
without spring
a winter
without some her,
an ought, without
him.

How come the tree
ties on
a new wardrobe
every time its clothes decide
to leave,
and why do its
roots
walk in moccasins
made,
of serpentine
conceive.

This northern breeze
blows sweet
across me
and through the throbbing
of my raised skin
terrain.

It feasts on the pine
and covet,
of my sustenance
chewing on the bark
of my watering
bite.

Why does this air,
wind
around my fingers
like the arms of a
timepiece
sucking the see,
and the salt,
from my clock.

Tight clenched
silk caress scream,
on your smile
dripping like dewdrops
on gilded
chantilly.

How does someone become
so
infatuated,
with another
that they know
they will ever only, meet
in dream.

Are they the sand to our
hole
unfulfilled,
or are they the drapes
to a window
that make us,
come pleat.

Or are they simply
the other side of the mirror
that hides all their thoughts
gazing back at us through
this blissful
pane, of reflection.

How come
love
has to be so,
definitive?

Why can’t it ever
just
godamn be?

Like earth and heaven
and sky and,
you.

How many letters,
does one have to
combine
to find
the right key
that opens,
a heart?

Let this avowal,
be the
password
that releases,
your safeguard.

Allow the constant of my
consonance
catch you, with
allure.

Let the common of my
nouns
surround you,
in uncommon veil
lore.

Let the verbs of my vigor
lick, your
vivaciousness.

I want you
to be
the may to my
December
so here, and tomorrow
we may always,
remember.

That moment
in time
when smile,
came easy.

And thoughts
of affection
kissed soft,
in the wind.

This is so fantastically creative, dear Richy.
You always bring smiles and sighs!

No way to remain quietly sitting ... reading you here was like being on stage hearing my own voice reciting you!

You and your poetry are ever so eloquent, elegant, exquisite and regal....and so fine tuned.

Your word play rolls like waves, it ebbs and flows and leaves a lasting ripple effect that I want to wade in for hours.

xox warm hugs, Richy~  This was just lovely.

if you see a head bobbing up and down in the distant swells, worry not Lori.. it is just I, wading forever.. in your blue ripples, as well..

oh btw.. i'm not a very good swimmer, so I might need a hug to keep me from drowning..

but then holding my breath is something I've come accustomed to..

You too sweet friend..

I could easily copy the entire poem! I love the beginning, love the ending... and... well, I love the middle, too! *S*
