DAWN TO DUSK 1 October 2011 You were the dawning of my days; you were the walking of my ways; you were the kite that skimmed my sky; you were the twinkling of my eye. You were my horizon misty blue; you were my near of every hue; you were the freedom that let me be; you were the moon that rolled my sea. Yours were the arms that raised me up; yours was the touch that filled my cup; yours were the words I floated on; yours was the heart that birthed my song. Oh, dawn is dawn and dusk is dusk and never the d’s shall meet for in between them lies a sea that never can be breached . . . Oh, dawn is dawn and dusk is dusk and never the d’s shall meet for bright is bright and night is night and light, of foot, is fleet. Owl |

Beautifully written owl... we really should make the most of the "todays" we have. Dusk comes all too soon it seems. Michael |

Thank you, Michael. Thank you Krawdad. I do. I leave people who disappoint me behind me, and wake up as I did today, to a beautiful blue sky with glorious sunshine that is adoring the foliage of my forest tree leaves and splashing branches and trunks with patches of sunshine. Thank you for your beautiful reply. Smiles. Thank you, Kat. I am glad you liked it. Owl |

for in between them lies a sea that never can be breached . . . There is such beautiful acceptance in your words... of both what was and what can't be. |

Thank you, my dear friend, Ruth for getting it so well - what was for so long and what can never be again. Smiles. Owl |

The words of this poem remind me of the dots on the sepals of lily flowers. The trumpet had opened when I first started to read--stamens quivered in the intellectual breezes of my mind. When all words were absorbed, pollen fell on the pistal, and the seed of understanding grew in the garden of my brain. What I am saying is that I cannot remove myself, and all thought from the natural world outside of humans. And that the intelectual ingenuity that it took to put words, such as these in a poem, are my connection to the complexities of seemingly disconnected phenomena. What the words do is make me think through the argument. Thank you,Diana, for this poem, and those thoughts. |

Thank you, Yann, for your beautiful reply. Ford, I think you may just have got it. Thank you for reading so carefully. I love the way that you relate thought to nature. Owl |

There is heart touching melancholy in this captivating poem and a conclusive determination to make a bouquet of what was life nourishing for a span of time, but has lost its propelling fragrance. Beautiful, yet sad, dear Owl. M |

Thank you, Margherita for understanding the joy and the sorrow in this. The fragrance may be lost, but it lives on in the memories of two. Owl |
