Another Day of Missing I ride in her memories as the days close in, realizing she was the only one who really understood me. The one who was there 11 years ago, suffering in her own knowing that time was not on her side. If she only knew the thoughts that rise on my daily trips or the moments, like now, when I wish her here... I will never let her go, nor the gift I have of her. Time will always be on my side as long as I have her in mine. M "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." |

It is a weight to bear; sometimes comforting, sometimes bittersweet, sometimes with just outright agony. This is so poignant - thank you for sharing it. |

Evocative (albeit bittersweet) poem. Memorable moment nicely captured and rendered. Al |

Another day of missing and another day of musing. "I ride in her memories as the days close in, realizing she was the only one who really understood me." That is so lovely Maureen. "Time will always be on my side as long as I have her in mine." Bless you sweet friend and your loving memories. |

I will never let her go, nor the gift I have of her. So very poignant and touching... You've written your missing, but so many of us see our own in your words!! |

True love will never fade These days it's hard to make the grade. Like a present, you shared the 'meant to be's'. And there, upon a shoulder, where burdens often lie, is a lasting impression of a warm hand, for true love will never die. Your words are amazing, Maur. I'm wondering if your poem was about your sis. Eyes have many tears for many people. Jeff |

Yes, Jeff, it is about my sister. When things were tough for me she was there any time I needed her despite her first needing a liver transplant then finding out she had lung cancer. After her husband died five years after with again, lung cancer, my nephews let me buy her car from them...which I use to drive to and from teaching. So she is always with me. Her birthday and her husband's are both this week. Thanks to everyone who responded and for Jeff, who remembered M |

This is very sad and yet uplifting. My older sister closest to me passed on after a five year battle with cancer. She is missed every day. I can relate, somewhat. JL Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. |

Maureen...Tender memories of your heart shared with us tells us of a love and devoation you had for each other. Reminds me of a poem I wrote long ago that is somewhere in Ron's vault entitled Sisters if you care to search for it and their love for each other.Take care Sweet Lady...Paul ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |

The poem tells the reader that there is a way to deal with the departure of a loved one. We all deal with this fact of life and deah in our own ways, and some are better than others. It all depends upon the one doing the grieving I suppose. Love your ending, as long and she is with you, time is on your side. Great insight. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Thank you again for all the very kind replies. As one ages, the missing sometimes becomes greater, but the memories make it tolerable. M |

Wonderful, heartful write here, my friend. Beautifully spoken. And, your comment, "As one ages, the missing sometimes becomes greater, but the memories make it tolerable.", was as true as truth can be. I turned 68 today, and the first thought, when I awoke, was . . . in two years I'll be 70. First time I ever felt like I was actually starting to age - and as I lay there, the memories flooded in . . .and when I got up, I was younger again. j. |
