you know what it feels like
we all get this was from time to time
when your heart
begins to hurt, to ache and tries
to push up into your throat
no?
maybe it's just me
that get that way from time to time
I'm that way now
not a good day
blues setting in
more than the blues
don't know what to call it
melancholy, maybe
down in the dumps
gloomy
whatever, it’s a hurting feeling
I know the reason for it
nothing to be done about it
wait it out
hard to do
nothing else to do
but see, it takes over everything
can't think about anything else
can't "put it out of my mind"
I could get drunk
don't do that anymore
I could wade into some
cheap California burgundy
and drink until
that jug was empty
then what?
wouldn't solve a thing
just give me a headache
make me drink gallons of cold water
trying to get the fuzzies outta my mouth
I hate it when this happens
knowing I indirectly
have had a hand in causing it
be that as it may
its
screwing up my day

Dearest Jerry, been there done that more than I like to admit. Glad to hear you know that sometimes the best you can do is just keep breathing and let it pass. It will be better till then it sucks . My heart goes out to you.

I'm better today, Lori. All that happened yesterday. New lease of life today, thank goodness.

Thanks for commiserating with me.

Dear Jerry, I do understand and I would like to comfort you by finding the right words to say, but you already recognize the symptoms and by being aware of the "process" you exclude some instant remedy that brings nothing. I shall just sigh along with you and send a prayer and a hug. May things work out according to your heart wishes.

Your words touch the heart.

Love and hugs.
Margherita

ps: oh, I am happy to read right now that you are better today

Ah yes...those great fisted clenchings welled right at the base of your throat.  Judging from the replies, it appears things are better...even still, its difficult to wrap words around that particular feeling, and you did it very well.

Yeah, Nicole, it is amazing what luck, communications and a good night sleep (with some help) will do for a guys outlook.

Thank you very much for stopping by my corner of PiP.

Suthern, we all have had our turn at those kind of days, haven't we? But when they are on us we think nobody else has ever had such a day. Such is our vanity. Thank you for being here.

Oh I do, Ida, it was just a one or two day problem. I'm good now. Thanks.
