do you know of those hours of intrusion
where the melding stones press your wounds
and you toss and turn on the bedside of your sky
wondering if you are falling or have fallen within

do your eyes look behind your mind for moments
and search the records of dark dreams to find
some key to that most urgent urgency you conceal
that haunt the seams of your soul between fingerings

are there sounds there sometimes from another skin
that your demons have possessed and returned to you
taking you inside yourself to examine the needing
and then you make the water sounds begin at brim

as my eyes knead deeply into your gasp of grasping
