Precarious Positions

Should you find yourself
in a relationship of which
I shall now describe,
should you find yourself
with a woman that won't commit
but has the most beautiful eyes,
should she kiss you like you've
never been kissed before,
should she give you every reason
to adore her and then many more,
should she cause your heart to melt
like its hot chocolate in the sun,
should she be the woman of your dreams
but then take up and run,
what would you do if such
a precarious situation was the wants
& the needs & the desires of your life,
what if you wanted nothing more then
to have her as your loving wife,
what would be your thoughts, your actions,
what would you have to say,
if one foot wanted to go
and one foot needed to stay.

precarious-dependent upon the
will or favor of another person.

Dear James, you caught this state of deep involvement and dependance perfectly well. When that someone prefers freedom to commitment and you are not inclined to fly high only sporadically, you better try to detach, because it could become a painful twirling that would never ever bring you satisfaction. In clinging to someone who doesn't want to commit there is never ever any gain, but mostly pain.

Just my thoughts, as you asked here.

This said, we must also consider that we can't "possess" another ...

Very nice, James.
Life is full of precarious events.
Remember that old, old, saying:
"Wherever one foot goes the other will soon follow."

Enjoyed your write.
