To love someone this carefully:
I cup your face, fragility
in my comma-hand and sing
in whispers
soft
and comforting;

oh-my-angel-featherings

I pray you feel no pain at all.
I want your arms to be my wings.
I kiss ten toes as roller skates
knowing that your knees have fate

to brush and burn the cold concrete--

to love someone this carefully.

Very nice.
Only as a mom could write.

Enjoyed.

I can't pull out one line or two as being most special when the entire poem makes me forget where I am. This is gentle perfection I'll savor again and again...

Karen, that was beautiful, and Ruth said it right, you take us away on your wings.

By the way, that is THE most beautiful YouTube I have heard in some time.  Love it!

Thank you.

And just know that there is no drug, no piece of music, no experience I've yet to find that centers me so much as holding an infant.
