Not a damned thing I can do.
My absence is no threat to you.
My presence does not bring you joy.
I'm tied inside the little ploy

concocted by a simple thought:
no one will mourn if I am...not.

Geeezzeee!
This is so sad.

But well understood.
Enjoyed the insightful poem.

For Heaven's sake, dear Karen! You are loved beyond what you can ever imagine!

I know of such strange ideas that cross our mind ... but you just need to be aware of the craziness of the idea .... No, you ARE and you are not some abstract idea, you ARE a child of eternity. Precious part of the WHOLE, which wouldn't be WHOLE without you.

Love and hugs.
The poetic expression of course is extremely powerful and put me instantly on alert.

Ah, very true to life thoughts, my friend.  Words many would not utter though the feelings are there.  That is, till the light turns on.

I almost had to report myself for inappropriate and very unladylike language when I read those last lines!!! And the effort to swallow a yell you'd hear a state away left me with hiccups... *mutter mutter*

What can I say? *G* Sometimes I read titles... sometimes I wish I had. LOL

Brilliant, m'lady... as always.

hic-CUP! *G*

And I am tied inside my little house
peeking out like a hidden mouse
I am not who you think I might be
my pseudonyms have set me free

It is only here that I exist
Really, just a ghost in a mist

Karen, perhaps I am misunderstanding completely, but I read your poem as saying EITHER that a ghost writer, writing an autobiography for another is never named nor known OR you FEEL like a ghost writer.  I sincerely hope you mean the first, because you are very loved and would be horrendously missed if you weren't here or weren't on this earth.

Krawdad, I think your reply to this and your replies to other poems in the form of a poem in their own right, are beautiful, but please will you repeat them all in their own threads afterwards, so that they can have their own replies.

I've told many from Pip that if you have never actually heard me speak, you'd think from my writing that I'm a completely miserable human being.

I've a friend who has commented that I am indeed the happiest most miserable person he's ever encountered. Which kind of makes me seem crazier, I guess.

I'm not going to explain this one, though. Suffice to say that things are not always as they seem.

And I too, love when people add their own verses in replies. So it's much appreciated.

Now. I've got to get back to work. (I told my husband he had to clean his room--dumb idea, really. Now that means I have to deal with the fallout.)

He is *ahem*--"a collector".

I told him that we might well end up being the first family featured on "Hoarders" to have flat, human, skeletal remains peeled off of the floor...

I mean, c'mon! How many books about THE THREE STOOGES do ya need?

And btw? The Beta Max movies are nearly gone.

On to the VHS!

Good Housekeeping, mah ass...*eg*

Well well well, I just got back online today and what do I find here...

Your absence never was a threat, but your presence sure is missed when you are not.

...because of not just your happiness, but the happiness you give others, myself included.

Michael, my brother-love, welcome back.

And Angel makes me wish I were a king...

the story behind this? I guess I should tell it here before I forget...

My kids asked me once, a few years ago, why I
kept myself away, hidden in my room.

I told them I thought it would be easier for them to face my inevitable demise if I wasn't such a constant presence.

(My son was furious, btw.)

"You really think you can prepare me for your death?"

Another-dumb-idea-from-serenity-blaze...and I never swallowed silence so hard as I did in that moment.

They are great kids, btw. GREAT.
