soft words uttered
in passion's tongue
we lovers 'neath loblolly pines
chance meeting
n'er to repeat
but
love's feast
not forgot
soft brown hair with touches of cherry
down below shoulders inspiring
soft green eyes
haunted my soul
apple-red lips
sensual pout
the sky as our shield
experimentation; order of the day
and into the night
our research intensified
under darkness' veil
dawning of morn
found us sated
physical abandonment
did its part
we parted like the strangers
that we were
we shook hands
she walked away
I did too
in the other direction
both carrying
memories
of an impromptu
soirée

Dear Jerry, see it seemed just one sensuous night with no consequences and yet you have kept the memory as fresh as ever within your mind, as the romantic poem is indeed very vivid and enjoyable. Such moments within nature's embrace are dreamy.

You had me googling loblolly pine. Interesting, beautiful tree.

Exquisitely rendered.

Love,
Margherita

Yes, Margherita, it was most definitely a night never to forget, and I haven;t.

Thank you for being here.

I guess, Lori, I hadn't intended for it to be a love 'em and leave 'em kinda poem, it was meant to be two ships passing in the night. Thank you for stopping by and commenting.
