I’ve gotten used
To your zero

Seeing you is equal
To seeing you not

Your presence creates
No net benefit
Your absence involves
No sense of loss

And who might you ask
Is responsible for this
Natural indifference
That does not wait
Or feels the miss

One does not go
To a grocery store and
Make the same purchase
He did before

Having learned at last
There’s nothing there
For all the colors
On the box
