a myriad of memories from my past feed my departing soul with glimpses clear yea, I have more than enough for my years some are brightly lit within my thoughts some, well, they have grown dimmer o'er the years the malicious and sublime fight for domain I, too, hold fast to those who want to let go the bad and good, why, at this time in my life try to separate the two, they are a package deal its like I've set up a humble place of worship with my memories a soft singing choir although they sing out of tune, they're my songs sometimes a raven disrupts the choir's tao when he screeches loud like a train whistle those are the times when my nightmares began the power of my memory choir is enough to chase disobedient ravens far and wide my memories reform into a conclave substantial and supportive through the years and although they may fight among themselves they give me prominence to view their past some are painful; I tarry there the longest trying somehow to right wrongs in the night a wintry chill is loitering inside my choir like a light dusting of snow has fallen there these memories have taken the attitude its time for them to softly fade away I thought once if you didn't have memories you couldn't look forward, or even behind I thought that, but now I feel so foolish for they are not gone, not completely gone if I see a young lady walking down the street memories stir and I think of Cheyenne Girl a lad being pulled by his mother's hand and I'm back in Arkansas playing ball tangled cobwebs though my memories are I'm still able to pick out the best. |

Whoever can write like this about his own life and memories uses life's instrument with great knowledge and experience, creating a harmonious whole, where wrongs and rights have lost their sharp contours to become a "choir" of voices that sing the song of life, without the smallest off-key tone. Where everything simply IS. Very impressive write, read it already twice, as it is compelling. Love, Margherita |

"I thought once if you didn't have memories you couldn't look forward, or even behind I thought that, but now I feel so foolish for they are not gone, not completely gone" No disharmony in this at all, just being human and being you. I really enjoyed this write, think I've been there too, I think... Keep um coming pilgrim! JL: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. |

Another great "walk and talk with Jerry". It is good to hear you come to terms. You set a good example for the rest of us that haven't come as far. Bless your heart. Lori |

I really like this, Jerry... especially the end... some memories are better let go so the melody of the good ones can be heard. |
