. One Does not walk alone To be in the company Of any whom A drugstore The five and dime An antique shop Where two samurai In bronze with grotesque Looks and extended arms Are caught in mid strokes By which one or both By the sword would Surely die The old streetlamps Their frosted globes Remnants of another world Are but points by which A wordless need passes Through space and time And where did he go That solitary voyager Who comes in return And knows not why He ever left Except that silent Brought back within Will not be denied . |

Perhaps I am misinterpreting this beautiful, mysterious, enigmatic poem, but it seems to me that you are talking about SteavenR, a Pipster, much loved by all, who passed away very recently. I think you are describing the milieu in which his poetry was written, and saying how much he is missed. If I am right, it is a wonderful tribute to one of our excellent poets who was/is so much a part of Pip. If I am wrong, it is still a very beautiful poem. Owl |

Oh, OK. I must read Wallace Stevens again. Some time since I did. Thanks for the explanation. Owl |
