I should never speak of the memory tree gardens
how they are as dancers of limb along edens brow
like centuries of sentries collecting there
the dust of used blessings kept for the savoring

nor would I speak of those forgotten leaves
those moments left untouched and unturned
scattered as ashes over mirrored ground
filling the endless void with their avoiding

I shall only speak of tomorrow in perhaps gowns
that drift from limb to most recent pyres
hesitation wafting as a cloud between harvesting
and the permanent emulsion of an eye blink

ah yes tomorrow, the hopeless, romantically hopeful
