ALONE 1991 Perhaps it was intended that I walk alone. Perhaps there is none who can feel song and sun and colour and sweetness of hay and honey, as I. Perhaps one greygreen autumn day a rugged stranger will, with silent footfall, and respect for forest creatures, come wandering through the green mists of my garden trees and perhaps we will understand each other, and perhaps not. Very beautifully written. I know this feeling oh so well. I have come to the conclusion though that if I am meant to be alone I am meant to be alone. Also I am happy living the single life. I truly enjoyed this read!!! ![]() When the family is together, the soul is at peace - Russian Proverb |

It's a chance taken, a chance mistaken in the century's-old trial and error in the matter of the heart. We each must give of ourselves to have a half a chance of fulfillment. ~ Clones are people two ~ |

Thank you, Julie. Sometimes it can be a good thing. Rex, you had me chuckling too, once I had caught on to your personalised spelling of c’est la vie! Jerry, yes, you are right about the trial and error. I have bumped my head so often with the wrong choice, but didn’t let that put me off trying again, sometimes with the same man (usually a mistake) or the next. In a poem of mine called “It’s the Africa in Me” I have a stanza which reads: It’s the Africa in me that has taught me how to love and patches up the fragments of my soul after each disaster and renews my zeal and increases my understanding in preparation for the next onslaught. You have the secret, Jerry in “We each must give of ourselves to have half a chance of fulfilment” but it can be a problem when one continually gives of him/herself far more than the other. Thank you Faith for your touching words. Owl |

love the ambiguity of the ending...such a lovely write...as I read it to conclusion, I thought to myself, hmmm, even in perfection there is doubt...well expressed...I enjoyed it |

Lovely write, Diana. I am in pretty much the same situation but feel that I am content with it at this stage of the game. Ida |

I love it Diana but I hope there is a rugged stranger somewhere waiting for your silent footfall. |

Sorry, Rex. I thought you did that on purpose for fun. Smiles. Thank you Ida. Me too, well, pretty much. Thank you, Kate, but I doubt that there will be any more, not at this late stage, but that is OK. I have some good memories. Owl |
