'Ere to dream and to dream about the girl, Darkened skin, and with eyes a thrilling slant. Your lips red rubies, teeth like cultured pearls. A fleeting look upon you did enchant. Your laugh, like a symphony did delight That long black hair gave you a certain class Your long and slender neck did me excite, You made me so giddy, like laughing gas, In the dark shadows I stood and I saw, You looked no different from days before, From just a glance no one could see your flaws, A cheating spouse when I went into war. You killed my spirit and the man in me, 'Ere I take my life, you I had to see. ©July 10, 2011 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~ Employ teenagers while they know everything. ~ |

I like the darker ending. Will check your previous sonnets out. |
