Before I was her King and she was my queen We were kids who took flight On the strawberry swing Life without a care in the world Now seems like a fantasy Back then was our reality Barely old enough to vote We registered with the love movement Got drafted, became soldiers of love And were deployed into a world of hurt Leading by example was our weapon of choice Slowly humanity regained it's self esteem And showed everyone that pretty smile We were lucky, we got to love one another And helped the world love itself Instead of growing apart We grew into each other And that's why it hurts so much That your illness took you away from me Without you life is just a waste of time |
