I cannot say I've never loved For that would not be true But I can say I've never loved Someone as I love you. I cannot say I've never felt The flame of passion's fire But I can say it's never burned With such a strong desire. I cannot say I've never been Enamored by one's charms But I can say I feel safe When I am in your arms. So let me say this soft and low Though loving I have been I've never loved as I love now And never will again. |

Now, this is better than anything I've ever seen, and I've read a few cards between now and the day I was born... this is a keeper, and I say, give it to your lady... had you left Passion out, it would be fit to give a child of your own... it's very special, and huge in sentiment. |

How beautifully stated, dear Michael. That's exactly how we feel when we are in love, there was nothing better before and nothing better will ever be. The moment of now in its fullest awareness. Much enjoyed your art. Love, Margherita |

I was browsing a few other poems before I read this one, and I was thinking how much I didn't want to have to "think" while reading a poem right now. I didn't want to read anything with any "hidden messages" or insane metaphors. I just wanted something beautiful and to the point.. And I found it! Ah, this was wonderful! |

`But I can say I feel safe when I am in your arms`... that part is especially touching. Such a nice one, Balladeer |
