Wow! What a magnificent adaptation and twist for modern times! Hopefully, there are enough caring people who are aware of what is happening to prevent a metaphorically adapted repetition of the fall of Troy! I must say, that when I was young, the few of us raising our eco-voices were regarded as close to weird, but now many more voices have joined and the throng is getting bigger and there are good things happening amongst the bad so hopefully we can turn it around before we destroy the world completely. Oh, well, thanks for the comments. You never know, things might turn around much for the better.... or, if they continue to get worse, we might end up as the next "fifth planet story" from Loren Eiseley's Star Thrower famous collection of anecdotal essays. Let us hope and pray for the former and not the latter. edit: Seems to me this is a much easier read on the printed page... and that a great many poems are thus, cramped styling or no. http://cassandra.askdefine.com/ |
