ALTHOUGH 14 June 2011 Although she really did get the message – it was just that she was hoping that it would have been kinder but then again what she really liked was that it was true and also it wasn’t that unkind. Owl |

It's after all what you make of it. And you see if priority is the truth, the margin for kindness may be narrow sometimes. Although .... Very good thought process. Love, Margherita |

Sounds like she wants to be angry, but can't bring herself to be that. ~ Those are my principles, and if you don't like them ... well, I have others. ~ |

Interesting response, Jerry. I thought about what you said for a moment before replying, but no, not really. More like, she would have liked to give an interpretation of the conversation that would have made her feel warm and fuzzy, but, she chose the stability of truth as she saw it – and not just her truth, but his as well - over the whimsy of happiness. No, it wasn’t anger she was rejecting, but sadness, but you were very close with the “rejecting a negative feeling”! Smiles. Owl |

Owl, This one makes me think - I guess we put our lives in the poetry that we read. Your poem makes me think of my relationship with one of my sisters. I wish our correspondence contained the kindness and closeness it once had, but I'll settle for an honest dialogue that reflects what we share today. It's not what it once was, but it is better than it was a year ago. I probably missed the mark on my response to your poem - but this is what I thought of. Love you, Alison |

My very dear friend, Alison, I am very touched when my humble attempts at poetry awaken memories and thoughts of readers that are important to them, whether they are on the mark or not. Most times, it doesn't matter to me whether interpretations of my poetry are what I tried to paint or not - just as long as it reaches the readers in some sort of way. This is probably one of those poems. You were close but no cigar - can't imagine you smoking a cigar, although I seem to remember you saying something about trying one or something, quite some time ago! LOL). Thanks for reading and woofs and purrs to your family I am also very happy that things are better with you and your sister. I remember a time - probably the year ago that you mention - when you were very upset about how things were. Love and hugs Owl |
