MULTIPLE-MAMA 16 June 2011 A couple of weeks ago I gave multiple-birth to twenty-one babies and now in my back garden in full view of my kitchen window, there is an explosion of beauty, in twenty-one fiery Aloe arborescens flowers. Owl |

Thanks, Duck. Yes, I do, but then I think we all do. I just notice colours and flowers with gusto, whenever I find them. Smiles. Owl |

Yes, they are, Karilea. Thanks for your kind words. Thanks, Jo, I "have 'indigenosia'" and thus was particularly delighted, when I looked up "Aloe mudenensis" to find it is native to South Africa. I thought for a moment that there may be aloes native to America, but discovered that that aloes are native only to southern Africa, Arabia, Madagascar, the Mascarene islands (islands east of Madagascar, including Mauritius, Reunion, Seychelles and some others) and a few bulbine aloes in Australia. Aloe mudenensis is one I haven't come across, nor even heard about. I delight in learning new things every day, so thank you for being part of my learning today! Owl |

Helen,I was also thrilled when I looked up your beautiful specimen, to find there were so many different type of Aloe. And yes most from S. Africa. The aloe in my yard was here when I bought this house. Now I want to go out to see if I can find a few others. Especially attracted to the spiral type. I thank you for the twinge to seek. I am always on google it seems because you and so many others mention things I had not heard of. |

Actually, this poem is by Diana (Owl), not Helen (Honeybunch), but you are forgiven, Jo! Smiles. It is my absolute pleasure and delight to have introduced you to Aloe arborescens and indirectly to so many others. They are wonderful. Google (and similar search engines) are an exhileration in my life. I am glad that they are the same for you. Owl |
