MY DISTANT FRIEND 22 May 2011 I will remember you in the dawn chorus in my embracing forest branches. I will remember you in the wind that caresses my hair flying it free behind me. I will remember you in red-splashed sunsets and timid sunrises opening up the dance of day. I will remember your gentle heart that you wrapped in concrete but which smiled through and cracked the crust to turn on the sun. I will remember you. I will remember. I will. Remember. You. Owl |

This is what makes life here worth living---the good... and especially good friends. Thank you OwlSA, for a good read. |

Dear Diana I love the poem, and the way you so gently speak of your friend.. I fear that your friend has crossed the bar, in the Tennyson sense..or perhaps has crossed to the other side of "spoon river" In an Edger Lee Masters way, and it is an epitaph, or eulogy? Whatever the meaning it is a fine poem, and I enjoyed reading it. ford Come read to me some poem, Some simple and heartfelt lay, That shall soothe this restless feeling And banish the thoughts of day. Longfellow |

Thank you, Easy1, for your true words. Thank you, Ford, for your warm and kind concern. No, my friend merely distanced himself from me because we wanted different things from what we had – you know, “women are from Venus and men are from Mars.” Owl |

I will remember you in red-splashed sunsets and timid sunrises opening up the dance of day. Oh the sunrise of the poetic day that spreads the sunbeams of your words, enjoyed. David Lester Young |

"in red-splashed sunsets and timid sunrises opening up the dance of day" ...my favorite part of it all, but I must confess, absolutely adored the ending |
