Memories Of You By Paul Wilson “ A Tribute To Bill Charles” Another star has faded from these pages of blue His words of rhyme a gift he shared with me and you A gentle spirit was he willing to help one and all Bill was a friend and poet who now answers Gods call I remember a poem he wrote and the tender story it told A bad accident took his memory so God created for him a new mold Recovery was hard and slow weeks and months went by The struggle began to take its toll onward he pushed but didn’t know why One day he got a sign from God his life had changed for the best He couldn’t remember his name but knew he had been blessed God told him his name was Bill and everything would be just fine Before long Bill began to write poetry of the romantic kind There were things Bill couldn’t remember from his past Locked away forever memories his mind couldn’t grasp Rest my friend and know you will always have a place on these pages of blue The ink in your quill has run dry but your poetry touched us more than you knew Rest In Peace My Friend “Bill Charles “ ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ Paul [This message has been edited by Paul Wilson (05-22-2011 09:30 AM).] |

Paul, bless you. It is strange, that so many of our members are older and poetic, it makes me think of Bill, and how he would have resounded not only in verse, but in song... What kept you away, why'd you take so long? You've kept it too close, now break out in song! This is a well worn castle, a moment to cherish now bring on your dreams, lest they lay and perish! Keeper of song I am, my guitar is near, lay down your dreams, it's safe, lay down all your fears... At least, this is what I think he might have shared.... Thank you, Paul . |

I've been trying to find something "fitting" for Bill since we had met and spent some time together talking about "life". I just came across this called : "A Thank You to Bill Charles" There are friends and there are friends. When you need you hope they're there. Even if you cannot ask, you pray they will appear. He's there just when I need someone in the background, unassumed to bolster and (feel) read my words unvoiced with sad consumed. And so it helps remembering a time when meeting came. When unexpected friendship rose to forever closeness claim. He'll show up soon with words expressed catering his to mine. I took a chance to follow through this friendship to combine. M I know there were many more challenges and duets that we shared but I feel so saddened every time I read them. and this: Hair of Brown w/Shades of Gray There into the mist, I am walking a path through hazel eyes, that see beyond the headstones of memories. Under the moonlit night lays a healed heart in bed with a dream yet untitled, though in scribbled form releasing naked thoughts. Those that press beyond the morning facing temptation's hold still fighting to keep it between the lines~~ and just one more: A Duet Still remember when first we met, when eyes touched eyes in warmth of flow. For there you were, as imagined once, tempting lips to share their know. I felt it true in hands that met and held that moment, reflecting now. How then I wished I knew the "next", my heart in want to you allow. There you were the perfect dream, the pleasure missed, in solitaire. I left behind what could have been, what should have been my answered prayer. It echoes now, this heart of mine the loneliness that you could fill. The calling of a Knightful love, the missing words, the touch to thrill. So I sleep upon a dream that lays a smile upon this face. Knowing that some day will find eyes to eyes in warm embrace. My thoughts in time to remember whence, eyes of mine searching from head to toe. We met once again, for the second time, lips touched and asked, what did we sow… Your hand was warm in pleasures touch, memories are always of when we met. My heart beat quicker not knowing of, that inside your breast, I, would you let.. Dreams I have now real in retrospect, and yes, pleasures missed, to be one. To embrace we could, but to this alas, reflections have I, why this not done… Understanding inside, yet driven at times, desiring of you, and know now your thought. If known I would then, when hearts beat so, to take the night, but now for naught… I still sleep with dreams, which come forth, of your lips traced slowly, not in haste. Inside I find though these restless wants, of eyes to eyes in warm embrace… 01/12/08 missing you~~ |

To All...Your words of praise for Bill is far more touching than the few words I wrote in this poem. I remember one time when Bill and I were talking on the phone I found out we shared the same intrest in prospecting. I told him if I ever got up to British Columbia he would have to show me how to pan for gold. He promised he would. Another time Bill took one of my poems and put it to music for me and I still have that cassette. He was more than a person, he was a giver and the friendship he gave me will always be remembered...Paul ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |
