About this time About this time last year You taught me about irreversible When my own spouse was crowned With symptoms stage 2 - yet you taught me Faith Faith, or your Irish pluck, he pulled through. But he hadn’t had five cancers in Twenty-two years like you; No double mastectomies for him Nor other cancers that brought about Bags and tags of meds and dreads… And he was older. But, you were wiser. About this time last year You allowed to share concerns at a Time where I could see hope for one When you couldn’t see hope for you. The months shoved ahead of us Our lunches, our summers Ourselves My journal reminds me Of my prayer “God, please let this woman Release life graciously Without rancor And without terrible pain.” You continued to accept me Into your home; we began to miss “stuff” together…like poetry meetings And theater movies and What you loved to eat… It was when I made you mad enough To smile again. So we planned…. Summer escaped us early, too, As we delved through your Things that Now you knew you could Give before you left, because this way You could talk with the nieces And nephews and remind them that They were not far from your thoughts After all, and their gifts received Was because you said so! Not an afterthought by a father or mother. No…YOU gave them The treasure you had bought, thinking of them long before you knew you’d have to. But these writings, memories Pushed me far into the fall already, Like summer does…it starts and Just as suddenly, we’re already done… So maybe, I don’t know, but maybe, My dear, I won’t write of you for awhile. Maybe to give you rest. I’m fey enough to believe that if I think of you, you listen. And you deserve to rest. Even when I never stop thinking of you. Before you close your eyes again, Know. Love, K P.S. I’ll be back…. ~*~ © KRJ 5-10-11 |

Difficult to see the words through my tears. I will read this exquisite and intimate conversation again, when I am a little more in control of my tears. Owl |

Extremely poignant, dear Karilea. Just yesterday I couldn't find the right words to say to a friend who is fighting her long fight and just got bad news again and needs to undergo further surgery ... How difficult it is, but love is energy and so are prayers and we try to be close. Your friend can only get joy out of your words and feelings, you do not stop her from enjoying her new existence by wanting her back at any cost, you accompany her gently with your love. She is free and soars and your gratitude for what has been and continues to be between you brings only additional joy. So I suggest you do not stop your heart's motions by writing. Love, Margherita |

I look around, the TV blares Violence and turmoil Cluttered streets, poverty-hunger. So I come here, and what do I find I find the true meaning of life In poems such as this; This is the answer, This is the why of human life. All the worlds promotion, All the worlds gold cannot buy it; Everything pales, in the face Of the type of human bonding This poem reveals. As you can tell, I have been moved by your words नमस्ते, ford |

Karilea You move me to tears with this one. You took me back and I remember the steps and stages you went through together. The love you shared is an inspiration. Bless your heart. ![]() Lori |
