Lost? I know this ol’ black guy Who knew a lot of, life He had seen some good times And,taken on the strife. He would party with us, Just one of, the boys Who talked about their “conquests” And some, about their toys. He would toss a coaster At the ledge on top the bar And at, one time, back then He reached, and grabbed his star. One helluva a person In case you want, to know? He would fight the currents Or go, with the flow. A friend that I call, “Friend!” One, I’m proud of the fact ‘Cause friends can sometimes Give you, what you lack. And in case, you’re wondrin’ Who’d make me feel this way It’s that great entertainer His name? It’s Dobie Gray. Loved the way you threw in those comma's. Sorta me thing I was stuttering a couple of times. Nice work about a nice and talented guy. ~ I went to a restaurant that serves "breakfast at any time" / I ordered French Toast during the Renaissance. ~ |
