A little bird, a sparrow, lived quiet in the tallest days, flew across the miles in sleep and wake, enough to know it was time to go, she glided toward the sunset's colors, and dipped her wings in the day's end paint, ascended to the highest height, to places no human could see, and when the sun had said its goodbye, a star was born in an empty space of the sky. |
