I'll not stand on my soapbox shouting blindly into nothing not like you you, the Sarah Bernhardt of stage, screen and dipsy-doodle hauteur no, not like you you seek out the light exposing yourself as though you've nothing to hide (((snicker))) me I long for the dark dark is my sanctuary senses are fine-tuned more real oh in the dark I've been called upon to perform I've been called suave and debonair beautiful even I've been loved in the dark by strangers such as I I touch myself remembering like old dogs follow the sun I follow what warms blood which seem frozen within my veins dark does that for me not light the blinding light which boils the blood still . . . I look to you for solace needing a smile however disquieting and false it may be it's a charade I accept after all pretence is what we do so well this is my alert to the absurdity of life sitting on the park bench watching idiots wearing droopy pants holding them in place hand on groin aged grandmothers fanning themselves placidly in the sun watching from the sunny side of the park me I sit neath a massive oak in the dark of the shade thinking of you I'm your Darkness Prince you told me once there were only two perfect men one dead the other; unborn as I sit in the dark of my life growing old growing mad I've learned this, and learned it well nobody knows all that much about women 'cept maybe their bisexual hairdressers "Whoever is not in his coffin and the dark grave let him know he has enough."-Robert Goolrick from "Reliable Wife" |

Every time I decide to quit writing (or posting) I read you and I'm inspired to say...SOMETHING. Your words always seem to have an undercurrent of ache for conversation, as thought-provoking poetry tends to do. Well done, Jerry. ![]() |

I am happy that you choose to say SOMETHING here, serenity. And as far as you not writing or posting I have a feeling that is just wistful thinking. You will be around and posting for a long time. Thanks for chiming in here. "Whoever is not in his coffin and the dark grave let him know he has enough."-Robert Goolrick from "Reliable Wife" |
