Clumped and bunched like cotton wool clouds o'er lay the land as if to stem the flow of mankind's fickleness. Meanwhile the sun is setting drawing, drawing, blood from the gaping wounds of every unloved lover. Unperturbed the mountain stands because it's seen it all before and felt the tread of footsteps that belie the truth. And the sea, well, it's like me rolling with the punch of vibes and coming in and going out from the meaningful. Now that time has passed, stars twinkle like my heart in a dark and deadly vacuum that blankets my desire. But tomorrow there'll be butterflies and I'll once again extend a hand hoping, willing, them to land and speak of grace and gratitude! Helen / 27 March 2011 |

After all the somewhat unsavory attributes mankind (okay personkind) possesses, butterflies and rainbows(mine) makes us forget all the dread and dank, instead we smile at the misdirection spring offers us, for we know soon she will lead us into scorching, sunburned days of Sol. I liked the heck out of this poem, don't know if my comments say that, oh, for a man who tries to become profound usually become presumptuous. ~ OK, so what's the speed of dark? ~ |

Thank you, Jerry and Bluesy. I do so very much want to see only rainbows and butterflies but perhaps to get to them one has to see all the other junk first. Such a pity - and Bluesy, bless you too dear gal. You make me remember the old days when Lady Sunday was someone else. Love Helen |

There are cycles where we do seem to cocoon, waiting for wings to overcome the abrasions of apathy and heartbreak in an aching world. I sigh over the challenges often, but we are capable of winging and blessing, if we persist. Veritable poetry...beautiful writing. ~ Karen |

Thank you so much, Karen. Ten or so years ago I didn't know there was so much to this living "thing" but I then started paying attention. So much good, so much bad, and so much that simply numbs the heart but, yes, persistence is the key. Helen |

I suspect that you had less time to pay attention 10 years ago. I know I did. We come to those epiphanies subltly as well as rudely, yes? |

I love the hope at the end of your poem. And I love how you used nature to share some of the pains that so many of us have felt. This is really good and I am going to save it, if I may, Helen. Thank you for all you share. Alison |

Thank you Ida and Karilea. There have been so many stories that it's hard to know which is real but then again there's always truth within the wrapping. Lady Sunday (and I want to be her again) |
