Blew the dust off the Harley something we'd been achin' to do hadn't ridden in too many months and this one was long overdue The wind in gusts of forty don't hold us back a bit That seat was still a perfect fit He gives it some throttle and I start to unwind Feel like this sweet ride was just in the nick of time |

Lori, that was absolutely lovely! And, besides the poem which was so light-hearted and happy, your spirits seem to have been a bit down lately and your ride has lifted your spirits so beautifully! I think you must both make the time and effort and whatever else it takes to go for a ride on the Harley more often - like every weekend perhaps? I enjoyed the ride too! Owl |

Sweet sensitive Owl, you are so kind to notice that it somehow feeds my soul. I was afraid of motorcycles until my husband taught me how to ride. I overcame a lot of fear for love and it took alot of trust. I finally learned how to meditate! But I only can do it on the bike ![]() |

Nothing like straddling a hog to make everything okay again, eh, Lori? ~ Look hard behind you and you'll be able to maneuver around the pitfalls ahead of you. ~ |

Smiles and thank you, Lori. That is the first time I have ever heard of anyone meditating on a motor bike! But yes, I think you have captured the true meaning of meditation! I had an ex-boyfriend many years ago who had a motor bike - not a Harley though. I loved riding on the back of the bike - and that was in the days before the law required the wearing of helmets, and I loved the feeling of the wind blowing my hair back (instead of forward as it did when I had my MG). It seems to me that you have a husband very worthy of you and that makes me very happy. Owl |

My brother and my son being passionate bikers at heart, I can fully understand your bond with your Harley. The friction with the air is something like making love to the world ... the sense of freedom, also because of the speed. Simply delightful, dear Lori. Love, Margherita ![]() |

Oh, I'm green with envy! I love Harley's! I haven't ridden on the back of one for a few years. I love how they sit low and you can feel the vibrations go right through your entire body! The sense of excitement and freedom are addictive! "Get your motor runnin' ~ Head out on the highway! Lookin' for adventure and whatever comes our way! ~ Born to be wild!" ![]() Ride on, sister! Write on! ![]() ![]() Linda |

I, too, envy you. Before I married so many years ago, my mother wouldn't let me have or ride a bike. I got married to (in part) gain my own freedom. I found out quickly that my new bride wouldn't let me have a Honda, much less a Harley either. So, when I want to think back with fond memories riding (or riding on) a motorcycle, I am left with only envy. Good write...made me remember that one day...well, maybe. ![]() |
