In the silence of her deep, shines a light from off the coast a beacon buoys the spirit drifting out to sea. Uncertain of her surroundings she has lost her way before charting familiar waters putting distant between the shore. The sea ebbs and flows, ever changing darkness blankets the clouds gusting with the wind. Stars reflect in knowing eyes. hands that cannot touch nor reach across the oceans tempering the storm. Whirl pools in a hush searching for a sense of calm an undertow pulls her down stirring, the silence of her deep. It is the light that shines, as the sundials a full moon keeping time with the rise and fall of tides for the sea has never failed her quest to persevere. As her calm returns mysterious and peaceful content within her elements, that which she cannot change. Shimmers in the darkness casting shadows in the silence of her deep. |

Dear Lori, if I could come back in another form, I would be the sea, coursing and lapping upon your shore, in an embrace of continuum, ever buckled in apogee... This was true bluesy. I heart this, and you. Richard |

The sea fascinates me ~ it frightens me with its power. You captured some of what is difficult for me to express when I look at large bodies of water. I like this. A |

Mysterious and gloomy and VIBRANT as hell, Blues. You used the sea and its unpredictably as a guide to steer us onward in life. I absolutely loved this dark of this poem, because you presented it, not as an end-all, but as something to overcome and come out smelling like that perverbial rose. GOOD work. ~ Look hard behind you and you'll be able to maneuver around the pitfalls ahead of you. ~ |

a fine 'write' ! ... I am especially fond of : "Stars reflect in knowing eyes. hands that cannot touch nor reach across the oceans tempering the storm." AND: "As her calm returns mysterious and peaceful content within her elements, that which she cannot change." |

Wonderful writing, Bluesy gal. Made me know (again) how much like the sea I am - maybe we all are to some extent or other. Helen |
