They were runners until the night said no longer They ran to where the hills said to stop But they never seemed to know when to She was just a year younger than him Just a little bit wiser But when they ran They were two of the same Drifters with a purpose A pact tied together by their shoes A pact of souls that seemed to carry the angst Of their fallen home The separation of their parents Still fresh in the back of their minds Right after school, Those laces would knot And she ran with him until His eyes would fixate On the path into the woods The salvation of nature Of the open world With no fights, slammed doors, Tears from the east hallway Down to the kitchen Simply salvation. Running with his sister Until their legs were of no use They were connected Like the mountains across from their home Watching each step they made For they were free Until they stepped back into their home. |

Very well written. I can empathize even though my experience is somewhat different. And it is good to have such a capable companion, even though there are some haunts and dreams that even close siblings cannot share. |

Tomer, this is heart-tremblingly beautiful. Your sensitive soul is a safe place for your sister, if this is about you, or for both people if this is not about you and to all people in need if the events and situation of the poem is hypothetical or fictional or generally-inspired. The solution to all of the world's problems starts with everyone developing the compassionate sensitivity and the depth of study and education that you have whether formal or self-taught. (All the formal education in the world needs a willing, self-educated recipient otherwise it is like water on plastic-sheeting.) The excellence of your poem matches the excellence of your soul. Owl |

Easy, I'm sad to hear you can somewhat relate but life is not easy, I guess. The fights that we battle, win or lose, they make us stronger. Take care Cheers |

Owl, thanks for the enormously kind words, as always. My soul is not as whole as I'd like it to be. Maybe, one day, though. Take care Cheers |

Late, indeed. But, for some of us, we were fortunate to have a sibling by our side. Take care Cheers |
