I turned the clock back, the other day, back, to the beginning. Back before faults were sins to man and waves were lions that roared at the innocent, in swells of silence that walked on the land and took back what it gave, without caution or caveat with, fear of the evil to the valley, of depth. Weekends weren’t meant, to be an ending, of tombs without blossoms, or funerals of morning floating down avenues, of never to be mothers and buoys that were once boys now food of fate to the yen of a sea of avidity. Yesterday never told them, they’d be sleeping on beds of sand and gravestone, these cries without listeners, houseboats of wailers, submarines that were once planes, a dog paddling to the forever, of its master. Where are the pieces, that now, are still missing, the note of forgivenss to the wife of a husband, the pictures of friends that we’re finally, going to meet, a glove and a ball for a son, on his birthday, and a poem to a woman who never knew, who never knew. These treasures and words are now sposato al mare, a couple coalesced in death due in part, woven in vow by arrangement of serendipity, deep in the bowels, of trial and trance. Time is written, in tears not years, a river of sadness that now raises the sea, yes, wicked oh wicked this way, sometimes comes, and swallows the blood, of a rising sun. The winds they do howl these days unfurled, where water is birth and hell, is whirled. The rainbow is black to the soul of the east now and at the hour of their life, released. |

Dear Richy, this is extremely poignant and beautifully written. I am sitting here in silent contemplation of the images and situations you evoked ... Thank you for this heart touching and compassionate write. oh ... and "sposato al mare" came as a familiar, yet surprising sound, carrying such deep meaning. Love, Margherita |
