The gig bag I bought should arrive today. I got a shiny new Yamaha to go in it. I already named her Black Beauty. I've been staring into it for a minute. Mirror mirror, play me a song. I can't wait till daddy's here to caress your strings and melt me; might even sing some tears in my beer. Always loved the acoustic babies though I could never hold one on my own, they say old dogs can learn new tricks but my peace of mind won't leave me alone. But hey, what more do I need? I got a man who can play it real sweet, he works on cars, he loves me right, whew! He sweeps me off my feet! We make for a fine threesome, you see... my rainy-day man, Black Beauty, and me. |

The premise of this poem is absolutely out there for all to see. The love between a man and a woman has survived the darts and bards' poetry to the contrary. I love it when I can read, "We make for a fine threesome, you see... / my rainy-day man, Black Beauty, and me." ~ Your writing is one of my guilty pleasures...more art than just words.-- steavenr ~ |

Maybe you can't play, but you sure can write, the music, as wonderful as anyone ever could. You are, a muse-ician Dixie, you play the pen like an elegant maestro. |
