for an old flame, long since gone. a moment of my life literally frozen in words. i was drunk.. room spinning the works. the poem is true in every detail including the fact she sent a text. To Kate Here i lie, all alone, While from afar you call me home, I wish that i could but fly, Into your arms my lullabye. A message from afar you send, Unto your need i want to tend, How i wish i could but fly, Into your arms my lullabye. Of you i thought of all the evening, Even when my brain hit the ceiling, God tell me how i can fly, Into her arms my lullabye. So very drunk, i lie here alone, And write this poem, to you alone, Both wishing the same thought are we, Our arms entwined my lullabye and me. Drunk as i am, i cannot sleep, Until i write of my thoughts deep, Which tangle round my mind as i fly, My honey, darling, lullabye. I wish i was with you dear Kate, I long to kiss you, cuddle, mate, My feelings oh so plain to see, My honey, sweetest lullabye |
