This is not some other emphatic lover’s plea Not just another, ‘oh please save me’ The saints stand aside with bowed heads And tears from their eyes flowing free That was then and a long time ago Words meant more than they show With time we realize how little we are When we see our lifeblood flow I want to hear the words resound my plea I want you to save the all of me In the silence and numb of head As the eyes of the saints now bleed They fall down in genuflect pose I don’t know if I wanted those Yet wrapped in myself this way I’ll beg of thee once more I suppose Tell me I’ll feel all or nothing please Anything, so that my heart will not freeze Frozen like statues of idols in want Whispering on the air, ‘please remember me’ |

If I read nothing else all day, it will be a good poetry day... The last verse is a whisper that almost screams with need... such sincere supplication should never be ignored. Wonderful, powerful write!! |
