Billy Mays Have you ever noticed the man on TV …who always wears a blue shirt; He sells putty that can pull a big locomotive …or detergent that gets out the dirt Of each piece of clothing he dips in a bowl …and like magic the item is clean; And this whole process takes a second or two …at least that’s all we see in the scene. But where do these products come from all of a sudden …and why haven’t we seen them before; Could it be these are items we’ve long past forgotten …used by those that exist in folklore; Or are they the items from far away countries …that got tired of them and threw them away; Or have they been lying around in a storeroom …waiting for someone to step up and pay. Then up steps the man in the blue long sleeve shirt …with his beard trimmed and oh so alive; Saying “You can buy this amazing product …for only Nineteen ninety-five”; “But Wait” there’s more if you’ll only act now …a bargain beyond all our dreams; For Billy will throw in two of these items …can this be as good as it seems? Yes Billy’s a man who came out of nowhere …bringing such great deals to great lands; With the voice of a girl that never stops screaming …and constantly moving his hands; No he never tires of selling us gadgets …that probably reside in his trunk; But you have to admit he is a great pitch man …cause people keep buying his junk. Yes. I wrote this poem before his death and figured I would post it on here and my blog in memory of the great pitchman. Thank you for the welcome. |
