This is a change from the usual poems I write so I hope you like it, and I was not writing about my wife or anyone in particular either. Time Please come back, please come back Back to a heart that’s always true Please let me hear you say my dear Those magic words of I love you Those magic words of I love you. Time cannot erase the memory of your face Or ease away the memories from the past My need for you is sure for today and evermore For, for evermore my love for you will last. I remember times gone by when I could climb up to the sky In my dreams with you there by my side But you could not be true, you have found somebody new Now all alone with my tears I must abide. But I hope the days not far when once again I’ll be your star The guiding light that you’ll return home too For without you at my side my love must be denied So next time my dear I hope you will be true. To all my very special friends in Linda, Alison, Brneyedgrly, Tracey, Margherita, Heart2Heart, Yann, Bill, Ida and Michael, A heart felt thank you to you all for your very kind rsponse, it is most appreciated more than you might think. Actually I wrote that as a song but as I can't write music, it has had to stay in poetic form. Perhaps one of you folks may be able to put music to it and sing as a song. Lindsay |
