The petals fell one-by-one disintegrating, far too soon. The long winter wait for Spring came and went with the scent of sweet blossoms saturating the air. Lavender and sweet clover mixed with rosebuds, sage, apple blossoms and wildflowers. Right on schedule, wildfire winds rolled the days into a summer-sizzle blaze of hot colored goldenrod, yarrow, bright marigolds and coreopsis boldly bursting with color, competing with giant sunflowers for some coveted Flower-of-the-Day crown. The prick of an old world rosebush thorn leaves me dripping with life’s blood and tears. I survey the unfolding matrix of life’s garden, subdued by layers of fears gathering momentum as time marches swiftly forward into the inevitable detritus pile of life. The sun still reigns today. Fall seems far away. Yet each ominous sway of barren flower stems leaves the edges of my spirit curled in desiccation. Winter sits silently on the edge of night, and waits. |

I know these scenes that you paint so masterfully Kaci. Mood and moments sway in the wind, but time is non-commital in its wisdom. Watch for the ever blooms, they are your kindred spirit. |

Kacy, This is summer - wildland fires, smoke, hot sun, pricks from rose thorns and knowing winter is just looming and waiting for its return. I love winter. I love all the seasons, but summer makes me tired sometimes. It's like mandatory appreciation time - gotta take it all in before winter comes back. Maybe that's because our summers are intense and short. Thank you, my friend. Alison |

Yo dear Kacy, This is okay, nice work Hon. That's the way winter is, it just sits there and waits. Love Bobby |

Your poetry has always touched me, Kacy, but it seems more powerful than ever. Back in #32, I responded to someone who was worried about a friend. I wrote, "Forever Green and a Little Risky". It came to mind when I read Life's Matrix. My favorite of my poem is the part is about how coal and diamonds are made. If you would wish to read it, below is the link. luv, misce' /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=89&topic=000101 |

Thanks, misce. I feel a lot better today than yesterday, when I had a medication change over the weekend that left me in near-zombie state, feeling like I was trapped in some deep dark tunnel without an exit! |

Truly brilliant! Gosh, Kacy, I could read your poetry morning, noon, and night. You have the quintessential ingredients for being a poet extraordinaire ~ You have eyes that see, a heart that feels, a mind that thinks, and a spirit that knows. You are the complete package ~ and so is your writing. You ought to start charging me for all the poems of yours that I have been saving! I wouldn't mind! It would be worth it! ~ and more! ![]() Love & Light, Linda ![]() |

Aw, Linda, that's a mighty generous comment! If you insist, then this one costs a dollar donated to your favorite charity. I'd just spend it on more flowers. LOL ![]() |

The melancholy due to even one withered flower in midst of a full garden of blooming beauties, shows your deep perception of "life's matrix". This tugs at my heartstrings. Listen to the chorus of all of your flowers, they all sing "we love you". Winter is in no hurry, he sleeps peacefully. ((((Kacy)))) thank you for this exquisite, refined poem. Love, Margherita ![]() |

Midnitesun - excellent writing. Even though winter sits in the shadows and waits, I pray that it doesn't come for a long time... BC |

Kacy, there is everything in this poem. I read it o-o-o-o-oh, s-o-o-o-o-o-o-o slo-o-o-o-o-o-wly, imbibing every burst of frilly flower-colour, every patch of sunlight, every shadow, every scent, every emotion, every fear, every shining glow of courage. I am trying so hard not to say this is my favourite of yours, because it must be getting boring to hear me saying that over and over. I feel so enriched by this exquisite work of art. We are very lucky that you are here at Pip. Thank you for sharing your beautiful poetry with us. Also thank you for taking so much care to paint it so exquisitely. Owl |

There's a wistful and melancholic touch to this bonny picture poem. I know the feeling, already now where I am this evening there is a keener, sharper edge to the air although only the middle of July. You have some verdant and gorgeous lines in your fine write m'dear ![]() Heart2Heart |
