When I knew not love, I knew not sadness It was much simpler then, ignorance in bliss So much different when love is realized Everything changes because of a look in those eyes I cannot recall the echoes of happiness anymore Pained to the heart, hoping memories to ensure That they will comfort and protect tonight As I lose my once infinite and forward sight There was nothing to lose and everything to gain For love I would stand out in the wind and rain I would at one time do just about anything Just to once in my life hear love sing Better it is to not have loved someone at all Than to have this fear of a love that will fall I knew how much love is sadness when I thought of losing love in the end |

I love your deep reflections, the poem is most beautifully written, the melancholy is touching. The fear of losing someone we love can be quite annoying, we always fall into this trap, because we have not yet fully learned to enjoy the gifts of love in the Now ... You reminded me of an Italian song that says "if only I had not met you at all ..." which someone sang to me a loooong time ago. Better have loved and lost it, rather than not loved at all. I am sure! The pain lessens with time and a new love is always around the corner. Oh, forgive me my rambling ... Love, Margherita |

Your beautiful soul writes itself in all your poetry. Are you really from this planet? |
