If I found you attractive in body, mind and soul and desired to desire you more... ... my pick-up line would be, "Let's hurt each other" I seek honesty in a relationship Should it end... ...the one who walks away unscathed is the one who never gave a damn. So, if you're prepared to truly care... "Let's hurt each other" And in my moments of insecurity, which I assure you will be many, should you ever try to comfort me... ...and the words "I would never hurt you" ever fall from your lips, like the dry leaves of Autumn... ...I will know... by that unscented plastic flowery arrangement placed before me... that it's over dead and gone and you will know by my absence If I found you attractive in body, mind and soul and desired to desire you more... my "hello" is permission to hurt me and each day that we spend together is a layer of armor tossed aside until we stand naked before one another knowing... ...that the blow WILL come Yes, we will mend each other's wounds but, the blows WILL come If I say, "I love you" upon first meeting or final parting... ...never doubt it is the truth but... feel free to call me a liar if I say, "I'll never hurt you" You do not have wait until the pain *** |

Love your thinking. This takes a few seconds but I think you know what you are talking about. late |

I think this should be required reading for humans from the cradle to the grave. Or perhaps it should be part of an owner's manual that comes with every infant. It doesn't apply to just relationships of romance, simple friendships apply too. Incredible wisdom. |

What you fear and expect, will most certainly occur. I love how you write, even though this is cynical, dear Larry. It's your belief pattern. To love deeply doesn't mean of course that there will be only roses without thorns. Your conclusion is in line with your beginning. It's like renouncing before even beginning to live this love, out of fear that hurt will come and destroy the present truth of that "I love you". We can comment "that's life!", or we can say we have the power to love without fear. The one who walks away unscathed (what do you know?) might well be the one who loved more ... Thank you for giving me the opportunity to express my thoughts. Love, Margherita |

What I gather from the poems I read on this site there must be a lot of truth going on here. Ida |
