O, how I suffer at thy slightest touch Pain I can accept yet this cuts too close The dull blade sharpest held in love's firm clutch From which the want of thee appeals the most O agony, thy sweetest taste by far The ripened drink born of the bitter vine For all the ageless beauty that thou art And the suspense of thy taste, anguish mine O cruelest blow dealt, from a touch now faded If only time could be captured here, now Repair the torn apart heart now jaded And could heal with thy soothing pain somehow I offer up my body in this way To receive penance from thy touch of grace |

I only love reading the classics H. I have a thing for the British literature and music. And you just made my day. |

O cruelest blow dealt, from a touch now faded If only time could be captured here, now Repair the torn apart heart now jaded And could heal with thy soothing pain somehow With a bit of time to spare, I savor gems I've missed... and this truly is a gem. *S* Beautiful write!! |

A very haunting work, Chalmette, in the classic sense. Finely crafted, nicely rhymed and metered. Thank you Jim |

Wow, I am glad this came up again, dear J.! It is a fantastic write, just flows so graciously down the page in all its sadness. Love, Margherita |
