standing on a shadow's lace

Unaware

breath caught me
unaware
I saw it stirring
slowly in the distance
dancing upon the grass
bending the blades ahead
it was like the smallest whisper
a sound of sigh
I wasn’t expecting its approach
but I do believe in things
I can not see
then it touched me
like an eyelash caress
and held my skin
in feather motion
rippling my bones
taking mine completely away
for breath caught me
unaware

"I'm so hard to handle
I'm selfish and I'm sad."
— Joni Mitchell

Oh brother - I swear I know this feeling.  When a close friend died, I said to my friend, I can feel her like an eyelash across my cheek.  Oh did I love this!

I think we have all had this feeling, Helen.
You express it so beautifully.

An absolutely wonderful rendering of these things you don't see, but you feel. Now recorded in your awareness, and beautifully so.

My Dear Lady

Do you believe in Spirits??  That is exactly how a spirit comes upon you and moves you.  I enjoyed your words.

Gem quality!

Caught me
in the distance
bending
like the
whisper sound of sigh

I do believe in things
I can not see

It touched me
completely
unaware

-just to have stolen a line or two-

Love the work you do, Helen!

(you wouldn't be telepathic, would you?  umm - you don't need to answer that.)

Helen, such a delicate penning. I literally had little tingles coursing through my body.
