"Shadow Box" Newfound grief calls out to old And sorrow does the same Exhuming sins from days gone by For which I was to blame Where once I saw a guiding light Foreboding shadows dwell What seemed to me like heaven, once, Now feels a lot like hell A prisoner to memories, That's what I've always been Despite my constant vain attempts To wash away my sins A shadow box for misery Is all I've left to share With those who've found their destinies Just far too much to bear July 23, 2009 AMdG "My candle burns at both ends; it will not last the night; but ah, my foes, and oh, my friends--it gives a lovely light!" -Edna St. Vincent Millay |

I felt every word of this. They do say, misery loves company. Somber topic but dead on target. Excellent. |
