Love came in once before
Like a thief in the darkness
That comes through the door
Wrapped in the night it wore,
Still I was neutral to the darkness

Had I known the price love would claim
An offering of all that is bliss
Would I have still remained?
To enjoy the pleasure and the pain,
Still I was neutral to the darkness

Away with love I would send
Falling into the blackness
Those times would never end
Those nights, they would never end,
Still I was neutral to the darkness

Everything changed in my eyes
From the innocence to the sweetness
Blinded by the dark was I
Even if no one heeded my cries,
Still I was neutral to the darkness

Love came in once again
Like a butterfly caress
That feels of angelic skin
And whispers on darkened wind,
And I embraced the darkness

I really like this... I fear I wallow in or fight the darkness more than I remain neutral or embrace it... but I like this perspective. I could highlight so many lines, but you've wrapped all the ups and downs of love in one great poem.... it's all wonderful. *S*

Truly exquisite and a very wise conclusion.

Love,
