Break these chains Let them fall slowly From me Let me stand tall An orb of sight within my palm Let there be light Break these chains Cast them from my ankles So that I may run free Let the wind kiss my skin My legs burning from the weight Within My heart molded by cast iron My soul captured by the miracles of sand My energy little more then leaking from the keg Would you guide me with your voice You don't understand the darkness across the path You see only light in this land I see the strangers behind the rocks I sense the death lingering above Every breath is a gift With that gift brings the accursed What if I wanted to see the light Could you smash the cast iron? Silence the noise of the glass? Patch up my leak? Break my chains Free my soul Metal sparks from the iron Crackle against the silent wall of night Crackle in Starlight "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars."
