If I take this shard and toss it to sea, Would it break upon a faraway shore Like the tender threads of our hearts Would it splinter and crack and yield nothing more Would it shatter and free The binds of our lives as we thrust and we trash Against the trappings of society Could it wander off on a new found beach Discover this new joyous thrill, this idyll Bliss in breaking the calm of monotony Capture the fresh air of liberty Or would it sink to the seabed, and settle in the sand Buried like that tiny fragment of emotion we conceal From the world which we hide This paramount portion of us so easy to reach So tender and meek Encase it cover it swaddle it in the masks of our life So never shall they see Who we are inside [This message has been edited by gid (11-25-2009 08:04 AM).] |

Thank you Margherita. This is a simple reflection of my feelings, and it gives me great joy that this expression may be appreciated by one other than myself. |
