A Little Color

When my life was dull and dreary
And was a cold and lifeless gray
I searched all around, everywhere
I tried to change it every way.

I kissed a bunch of painted lips
They came in every shade and hue
I looked into a thousand eyes
All tints of green and brown and blue.

I touched skin darkened by the sun
And some, a pure and milky white
Fair hair that shone like golden strands
And some, black as the dark of night.

I'd searched for a touch of color
But then you gave me your sweet love
Now, every day I wake to find
A rainbow in the sky above.
