A face, burnished by winds and wave, salt and leaf, vine and
reed.... A hand, calloused though smooth and caring, sensitive
to the feel of femininity...yet, cautious, pensive.

He thinks wisely of a time when wisdom only caressed the
souls of politicians and the shriek of a band played against
a conscience that knew only one choice.   And he walked
away, turning as he disappeared around the corner and
climbed aboard the behemoth that knew the way to hell.

A voice, somewhat wandering yet firm, hiding the stutter
of a nervous twitch,   never betraying the thoughts that
a casual fire might unleash as a smooth vintage fell
smoothly into the craw.

But, beyond all this, it was the eyes, at times so very gold
and green, at others.........somewhat less filled with the life
that he was born with.   Now, perched above the floor on
a revolving stool, swaying back and forth in half circles....
Wondering, never knowing if it would ever stop and let
his voice speak beyond the silence of his mind,   allow
his hand to clutch the small child.....his wisdom to fill
the earth...that they might know and understand why,
why he stands behind a curtain, staring out into the sun...
wishing only to hear the mailman and a rusty lab that
faithfully lay there, panting lightly.....wondering in
his own way as well....

Such a sensitive write, dear Barry. There are those who continue to influence the world in a positive, wise way, even after silence is inflicted on them ...

Great work.

Love,

You are definitely the man
behind the curtain in the kingdom of
Oz...the man who sees being time,
who sometimes sees beyond choice...

Voices called, see me here and
behold, one voice spoke.

I read you as I always have: clear, clairvoiant, vibrant.
Yet, Oz isn't you;
it was me
relying on a dream
that led to more
important times...
if anything, a gift.

Which you have always been.

Ah, the noise... and then the silences which shriek within; it's the silences and curtains which close on Act III.  To live a life you are not born to, not knowing whether to laugh or cry, waiting for the wisdom to be heard and innocence to hold within your palms.

This leaves me blinking back real tears for the hopes not seen nor cherished in a quiet man. I'll blame it on looking into the sun, ok?

Powerful writing.

Indeed a powerful writing.

I have missed reading your words...
and writing my own.
