A thousand years ago When sea winds pierced our solitudes there was nary a sound to brush away the dust of our illusions as the sunset lingered in the ecstasy of inquisitive delight Later from the cloak of darkness I watched you lit by a moon that fiddled with barren abandonment huddled and shivering on the stones a reflection of pure love that was lost Now when the hours of my days are numbered I think about what might have been without remembering it for I have nothing else to do except watch the moon lay a shroud of white for me amongst the ancient trees where as a naked man I go |
