 By Your Side by Linda L. Dowd I cannot bear your grief for you, but I will lend a hand. I'll lend an ear to you my friend, so I might understand. My shoulder you may cry upon ~ regardless night or day. I promise to support you through ~ whatever comes your way. May silver line your clouds of gray ~ through loss may there be gain. May stormy weather pass you by, along with all the rain. Enwrapping you in loving arms, I share my strength with you. And by your side I aim to stay, to guide and see you through. *+* |

Lindsay, I know that this is a very difficult time for you and Norma having recently lost your dear friend of 60 years. I have a tremendous amount of compassion for what you must be experiencing. But as you have intimated, Ron Pratt has finally reunited with his beloved wife, Marge. All clouds truly do a silver lining. Hi, Honey! Yes, I do feel the pain of others ~ deeply. I am an empath ~ which is a bit of a double-edge sword. ~ The up-side of that being, that I experience their highs and joys as well! We're all connected. Some people just don't bother taking the time to connect with others on deeply emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. Naked One ~ Good morning, sweet poetess! I have been fortunate in that most of my friendships have been very rewarding and have added greatly to my life. There have been a couple of instances where the giving came all from me and those 'relationships' were draining my life essence. They became more and more demanding and asking for everything and giving not even a "Thank you" in return. I kept pouring my love, time, patience into them with no show of appreciation and I began to feel tired, hurt ~ used and abused. I did not want to withdraw for fear of hurting their feelings, but a sense of self-preservation took over and I broke off the 'friendships'. What I learned by their mean-spirited reactions that I dared do such a thing, was that they never really were friends at all. When they weren't getting from me what they came to expect, they showed their true colours. I am much the wiser now. I still have lots of true friends and I will walk to the ends of the universe for them ~ and I know that they would do likewise for me! I love my (true) friends ~ and they love me! Please excuse my little rant, but your kind remarks bubbled up some issues from the past. All is well now! Love you, my friend! Linda |
